P25 Assessing compliance with oxygen prescribing in paediatrics

Aim The National Patient Safety Agency Rapid Response Report 1 and British Thoracic Society (BTS) guidelines 2 state that oxygen should be prescribed. Following the introduction of electronic prescribing in a specialist children’s hospital, there was reduction number patients whose A series audits were undertaken to determine how often administration accompanied by valid prescription whether variety interventions affected prescribing. Each audit comprised pharmacist visiting each ward on single day asking nurses which receiving oxygen. for patient then reviewed prescribed or not.
